Open plazas for installations and tented fairs, building lobbies and galleries for talks and exhibitions, restaurants and terraces for receptions, and the waterfront for evening events. Design Week spreads across the whole campus with a programme that moves from building to building.
Light, sound, access and timing
Light. Daylight and evening light rather than hall lighting; installations are photographed at soft light and after dark when lit. Sound. Talks in the buildings have desk audio; outdoor interviews need lavaliers and wind protection. Access. Public campus; organiser accreditation for the fair and the buildings. Timing. The programme dictates the route; we plan it from the schedule the day before.
